Band Heater Termination Options

Marathon band heaters can be terminated in a variety of ways including leads and post terminals. Please see the tables below for all the options.

Lead wire terminations (standard lead wire is 550?C Duraflex wire)

Type L1 leads Leads exiting both sides of gap are standard unless otherwise specified.

Type L2 leads Lead wires exiting 180 degrees from gap are common on nozzle heater applications.

Type L3 leadsLeads exiting straight out the side are available on any construction.

Type L4 leadsLeads may exit at right angle out of cap from any position on the heater.

Type L5 leadsLead wires on one side of gap are available on any construction.

Type L6 leadsStainless steel spring provides extra support, protecting leads from sharp bends.

Lead wire with stainless steel braid

Type B1 braid-Stainless Steel braid exiting both sides of gap.

Type B2 braid-Stainless Steel braid exiting 180 degrees from gap.

Type B3 braid-Stainless Steel braid straight out side

Type B4 braid-Stainless Steel braid with right angle exit through cap.

Type B5 braid-Stainless Steel braid out same side of gap.

Type B6 braid-Stainless Steel braid with spring guard.

Lead wire with stainless steel flexible conduit

Type C3 conduit-Flexible Stainless Steel Conduit offers utmost lead abrasion protection.

Type C4 conduit-Flexible Stainless Steel Conduit exiting through right angle cap.

Post terminal terminations

Type N1 terminals-Post Terminal Vertical position. This is standard position for heaters 2” wide and greater.

Type N2 terminals-Post Terminals each side of gap. This is standard position for nozzle heaters and band heaters less than 2” wide.

Type N3 terminals-Post Terminals Parallel position.

Type BN terminals-Button terminals may be ordered in same position as N-1, N-2 or N-3.

All post terminals are a 10-32 thread.
