Marathon Heater mineral insulated thermocouples are used where more durability or faster temperature response is required. MI thermocouples can also be bent to fit in to hard to reach places. Standard sheath materials are 304 SS, 316 SS, and Inconel 600. Other materials can be special ordered. Mineral insulated thermocouples can be made either with a grounded or ungrounded tip.

MI thermocouples are available in a variety of configurations.

	Basic thermocouple with plain leads, braided leads, or stainless steel armor over the leads.
	Thermocouple with plug or jack attached directly to the TC.
	Compression fittings are available in 1/8, ?, and 3/8 NPT sizes.
	NPT fittings are available in any size, single ended or double ended. Electrical boxes are optional.

	Hot melt nozzle TCs are available in a flush style or where the tip protrudes 1/4” into the melt stream. 3/8-24 thread on the bolt.
	Melt bolt thermocouples are available with a 3/16, 1/8, or flush tip. 1/2-20 UNF thread on melt bolt.
	Retractable melt bolt thermocouples allow adjustment of TC depth in the melt stream and retraction of the TC during cool down to avoid breakage. Replacement elements also available. 1/2-20 UNF thread.
